“ Jangly Man ” is the new creature that the Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro presented and that is part of his most recent production “ Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark .”
On Monday during the San Diego Comic-Con , the Academy Award winner shared images of his new creations and added details about his new film: the protagonist was the terrifying rotting corpse with a crooked face who always has a smile to offer.
CBS Films
released the trailer of “ Jangly Man ” with a small synopsis:
“It’s 1968 in America . Change is blowing in the wind… but apparently very far away from the turmoil in the cities in the small town of Mill Valley , where for generations the shadow of the Bellows family has grown enormously.”
“In her mansion on the limits of the city, Sarah , a young woman with horrible secrets , turned her tortured life into a series of scary stories , written in a book that transcended in time; stories that have the way of becoming very real for a group of teenagers that discover the terrifying home of Sarah.”
The anthology “ Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark ” is based on the book for children by the same name, written by Alvin Schwartz and illustrated by Stephen Gammell . Del Toro works as the producer , while the Norwegian André Øvredal will be the director.
During the 1:37 minutes of the new trailer, “Jangly Man,” played by contortionist Troy James , who also gave life to “ Baba Yaga ” in Hellboy (2019) , frightens the inhabitants of the town and spectators equally.
The cast is completed by Zoe Margaret Colletti, Dean Norris, Gil Bellows, Michael Garza, Gabriel Rush, Lorraine Toussaint, Austin Zajur, Natalie Ganzhorn, Austin Abrams, and Kathleen Pollard.
