From October 10 to 14 , the Grand Velas Mayan Riviera hotel will host a gastronomic event called “ The Best of Mexico’s Culinary Traditions ,” where invited chefs will share their passion for Mexican food by offering a ten-course tasting menu prepared with ancient cooking methods.
This year, the guests of honor will be Reyna Mendoza, an expert in traditional cooking and representative of Oaxaca gastronomy; Ricardo Muñoz Zurita, who specializes in Mexican cuisine; David Cetina, an expert in Yucatan gastronomy; Joel Ornelas, who is known for reinterpreting the country’s traditional cuisine; and Pablo Salas, from the restaurant “Amaranta,” which ranks among Latin America’s top 50 restaurants . These chefs will work alongside the event hosts Humberto May Tamay and Laura Avalos, from the Chaká restaurant in the Yucatan Peninsula .
