Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto participated in the "Mission Innovation" for the acceleration of public and private investment in green energy during the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP 21.
The meeting was chaired by French President Francois Holland, U.S. President Barack Obama, entrepreneur and activist Bill Gates, and the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
Peña Nieto explained the Mexican position with regard to this initiative during the panel.
The Mexican President pointed out that in the first three years of his government the federal spending on science and technology exceeded US$14.4 billion, almost twice the investment during the previous government.
