Eleven killed in ambush in Durango

The State Attorney General reported an ambush in the northern municipality of San Dimas, leaving 11 people killed and five injured.

The state agency reported that the bodies were taken to the coroner and they have not been identified.

Reportedly the attack happened around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, when the victims traveled on a dirt road from the town of Sapioriz to San José de Bacis, in San Dimas, on board three pick-ups. There is no information about the attackers.

The wounded are listed in serious condition while the authorities are trying to determine the causes and authors of the attack.
