In 2018, Haydée López and Darian Santisteban opened Xirimola in Mexico City , a small lab where you can create any lipstick shade .

is a Mexican company that creates custom-made lipstick using natural ingredients such as jojoba oil, coconut oil, carnauba wax, among others. But besides the lipstick of your dreams, Xirimola also offers a unique experience.

has also created a catalog featuring its most popular shades or you can create a unique shade according to your exact specifications.
The creation process begins by choosing the lipstick shade —a matte or glossy finish; a scent , including floral (seasonal), strawberry, vanilla, or chocolate, and choosing a shape —bullet, star-shaped, heart-shaped, diamond-shaped, cat-shaped, flower-shaped, and even a penis-shaped lipstick for your bachelorette party !
The process to create your own lipstick shades can last between 40 minutes and one hour. After looking at a color sample , the lip lab artist will then custom mix different options in the desired shade range so you can find the perfect color for you.
Once you find the perfect shade , the lab artist will recreate the color and turn it into a lipstick , the concoction then sits on a mini freezer where it chills for about 10 minutes.
Once the lipstick has cooled and solidified, the lip lab artist will ensemble the lipstick and it will be ready to go!
Haydée López
, one of the founders, is a Formulation Chemist specialized in makeup . She decided to open Xirimola to help women find the perfect lipstick shade, something she struggled with. For Haydée and Darian, it was important to create a natural , cruelty-free , vegan , high-quality product using only Mexican supplies . They also wanted to emphasize Mexico through the company's name, Xirimola, a variant of “ chirimoya ,” an edible fruit-bearing three species of the genus Annona from the family Annonaceae .
Xirimola is 100% natural and has been approved by the COFEPRIS , Mexico's Federal Committee for Protection from Sanitary Risks and has also passed the Skin Irritation Test (SIT), “an in vitro, a non-animal test designed to identify those chemicals and mixtures capable of inducing moderate skin irritation.”
Also, if you live outside Mexico City, Xirimola can help you create the perfect shade through Whatsapp or Instagram and it will be ready within a week. Prices start at MXN $260 plus shipping.
If you want to create your custom lipstick , we recommend that you book an appointment in advance as Xirimola has a tight schedule. The process could last up to an hour and the lipstick is MXN $400 and you are welcomed into the store with a martini.
Xirimola is about to launch its lipstick palette and also plans to create a long-lasting lipstick, pressed powder, and eye shadows.
