In the framework of the September 19 earthquake anniversary , the Barrio Unido association , composed of restaurant owners, neighbors, and civil society, have organized a series of gastronomical and cultural activities to commemorate the disastrous event.

“Barrio Unido emerged as a way to unite people against insecurity and delinquency, which have represented a problem for people living in the Roma, Condesa, Juárez, and Cuauhtémoc neighborhoods for a while now, particularly for the restaurant community. Following last year’s earthquake, the group has also helped to make our community stronger,” commented Ramón Orraca, businessman from the Grupo Bonito group and member of Barrio Unido.
