The Office of the Federal Prosecutor for the Consumer (PROFECO)
has warned consumers not to purchase tickets for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on resale or internet portals to avoid becoming victims of fraud.
Furthermore, the institution has reminded consumers that, in case of any contingency, they may contact PROFECO to receive assessment, so that they may correctly obtain their tickets for the sports competition.
On September 2017, the attorney Rogelio Cerda Pérez signed an agreement to collaborate with the company Match Hospitality , appointed by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) to offer hospitality packages for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. He also warned consumers that all event tickets should be acquired exclusively in Mexico , through the portal of FIFA’s official website (www.fifa.com/ticket), and the Mundomex agency , or any other agency that had an agreement with Match Hospitality.
PROFECO will offer help to consumers
in case of complaints or reports through all available channels, free of cost: The Consumer Phone Line: 55688722 in Mexico City , and 018004688722 for the rest of the country . They will also handle complaints through social networks: @Profeco (Twitter) , and ProfecoOficial, on Facebook.
