An anonymous source informed the journalist that the couple would formalize “a separation that they have been planning for a long time.”

The presidential couple was last seen at the ceremony of Mexico’s Independence on September 15 at the National Palace .

There have been moments in President Enrique Peña Nieto’s administration that have led the Mexican people to believe that the couple had marital problems.
