Politicians from all parties try to minimize the national women strike
This weekend, politicians from all parties tried to stop the national women's strike , organized by feminist groups t o protests against femicide and gender violence . Some politicians have joined the cause, opposition politicians who have lied and claimed they organized the strike; the politicians don’t understand that the movement is also against them because they are also part of the government, additionally, these politicians have said they will “allow” women to miss work as if women needed permission. Others detractors have accused women of being part of the right-wing : government officials have been sharing fake news t o try and convince people that the national strike is sponsored by the opposition; this is why prominent women such as Lydia Cacho have denounced these fake news.

Violence against women
, especially femicide , has suddenly become part of the Senate’s agenda . We’ve been told that the proposal to create a special commission to investigate femicide was approved. It’s expected that the members of this commission will forget about their political parties and focus on women. We’ll see if senators are up for the task and behave well.

Outsourcing at the Senate
In the Senate , where politicians are looking to regulate outsourcing , cleaning staff and security guards hired through outsourcing have been working there for years. Therefore, senator Martí Batres proposed to directly hire the employees ; his proposal has received support from several parties. However, not everyone agrees with the bill and claim that the unionized workers are not precisely efficient.

Pharmaceutical companies reach out to the government
We’ve been told that the national pharmaceutical industry is trying to collaborate with th e federal government . The industry is willing to eradicate corruption and strengthen the Cofepris as a regulating agency. They argue the country has the capacity to produce all the medicine that’s needed and that certain companies should be punished but asked not to blame all companies.
