Polevnsky vs. Monreal
If there are no last minute changes, Morena 's poll to know who will be the candidate to Puebla , Miguel Barbosa or Alejandro Armenta , will be revealed. Barbosa is backed by Morena 's President, Yeidckol Polevnsky and Alejandro Armenta is supported by Ricardo Monreal and the majority of Morena member s. We've been told that despite not knowing the poll results yet, Barbosa's team is working as if he was in an electoral campaign already. The name of the candidate will be before March 19 , so it has no be appointed today. We will see who won.
Federal government investigates medicine shortage
After some states such as Veracruz, Oaxaca, and Querétaro reported medicines and materials shortag e, we've been told that the head of the Health Protection National Commission, Angélica Ivonne Cisneros , has her eyes on every state and is analyzing how they use the resources allocated to health care . We've been told that the commissioner will discuss the issue with Jorge Alcocer Varela, the Health Minister , as they claim there is no reason for the clinics and hospitals to lack the basic medicines and equipment to treat patients . Is another scandal on the horizon?
Tough times at the Senate
Yesterday, President López Obrador met with his cabinet and with Senator Ricardo Monreal. We've been told that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the pending issues on the legislative agend a, such as the secondary laws in regards to the National Guard , and especially the removal from office , which was passed in the lower chamber but is facing a complicated scenario in the Senate . It seems like the incoming weeks will be complicated in the Senate.
Lawmakers take a lot of days off
And while the President and his cabinet work on Sundays and on holidays , the lower chamber is taking a lot of days off. We've been told that the lawmakers are taking 5 days off . After approving a law that will allow the removal of office, the lawmakers canceled Friday's session and will return to work on Wednesday. This way, the current lawmakers are doing the same they criticized before. They say it's all good, as long as they don't go back to the salary privileges and benefits they had before austerity .
