On November 2, Gilda Margarita Austin, the mother of the former Pemex director Emilio Lozoya Austin was extradited to Mexico from Germany .

According to her lawyer Javier Coello Trejo , after being in detention for three months, she “asked to go to Mexico” to face the accusations made against her, which include criminal association and money laundering .

After Gilda Margarita Austin arrived in Mexico, Mexico's Attorney General's Office charged Emilio Lozoya's mother with criminal association and money laundering and requested that she is prosecuted.

Gilda Austin was linked to the bribery scheme after it was revealed that Emilio Lozoya transferred USD $180,000 from his German account to Austin's bank account in 2012, so that his mother paid the taxes generated by the purchase of a home in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Guerrero.
