Netflix to launch comedy based on Pedro Infante

and pictures of popular Mexican celebrities will continue to dominate the small screen. Netflix is now planning a production based on the music of Pedro Infante , though whith a comedic tone.

Last Tuesday , the streaming service revealed that the musical about the Mexican icon was one of the main projects the company had in store for 2019 and 2020 .

During the Netflix Forum in Mexico , Ted Sarandos , the executive director of Online Service Content revealed that the actor and comedian Omar Chaparro would play Pedro Infante in Netflix’s new project.

“This is not the first time that Chaparro works for Netflix. A week ago, he hosted the Mexican version of the reality show “Nailed it!”

Sarandos revealed that Netflix planned to create 50 original productions in Mexico between 2019 and 2020. Some of them are: “Monarca,” starring Salma Hayek, and “El yankee y el club,” created by Argos, who made the TV series “Ingobernable.”
