Lawmakers don't read
As a former Education Minister once said, we all have to read. This time, those who should have read more are federal lawmakers such as Inés Parra , Miguel Pavel Jarero , and Arturo Roberto Hernández from Morena , and María Teresa Marú from the PT . They were exposed in front of the members of the Surveillance Commission of the Superior Audit Office and members of the Superior Audit Office. We've been told that the lawmakers made it evident that they're not prepared to be part of the commission because they asked to be told how the audit office works and its aim. They were scolded and told to investigate something else besides the “ Estafa Maestra ” and even told them to hire specialized interns . These lawmakers proved that they don't read the audit reports and don't know anything about welfare programs , or the way the agency they monitor works! So they need to start reading now.
Indigenous people are discriminated by the government
We've been told that a user arrived into the transparency agency , the INAI , with 20 revision appeals because federal agencies refuse to provide information only because it is in Mayan . For example, this person requested information from Imcine , the Mexican Film Institute , but the institute rejected the request and told the person to translate the request to Spanish . Someone should tell authorities that it is their obligation to fulfill these requests, especially since 21% of Mexicans speak an Indigenous language . It seems like these institutions haven't realized that Indigenous communities are a priority for this administration since the president mentioned them during the independence celebrations . Or free speech and the right to information are only for those who speak Spanish ?
Román Meyer was scolded by the president
We've been told that president López Obrador scolded Román Meyer , the Territorial and Urban Development Minister because he wasn't prepared to talk about the developments in the reconstruction program implemented after the 2017 earthquakes . During the president's news conference, it became evident that he didn't have the exact numbers in regards to the lawsuits filed as a result of the irregularities reported during the previous administration . The president looked at him disapprovingly and then said that the complete information would be released soon.
