The International Contest of Documentary Film About Migration and Exile (CEME DOC) , to be held in Mexico City from November 13 to 20 , will present international films; 14 filmmakers from 11 countries will compete.
Described as a space to reflect on migration and exile , some of the main issues of the contemporary world , films will be screened, including some made by Mexicans .
Some of the films are "Taste of cement", by Ziad Kalthoum , from Lebanon; "Grab and run", by Roser Corella , from Spain, "Waiting for Barcelona", by Juho-Pekka Tanskanen , from Finland, and " Checks Matta", by Leo Contreras, from Chile.
The three Mexican filmmakers participating are Anaïs Huerta, Luciana Kaplan, and Juan Francisco Urrusti with the films "David. The return to the land" , "Rush hour" , and "An exile: family movie", respectively.
The venues in Mexico City are the Film Library under the UNAM , the Museum of Mexico City, the Iberoamerican University, the Villa Olimpica Cinema, the Rosario Castellanos Cultural Center (Lido Cinema), the Center for the Study of Migrations and Exiles under the UNED, the Spanish Athenaeum of Mexico, the Tepito Cultural Space, and the Cultural Center of Spain in Mexico.
On November 17, the winner will be announced during a ceremony, followed by screenings and concerts at the Migration and Exile Studies Center and the Spanish Athenaeum of Mexico, according to a statement.
