The Mexican Consulate in Los Angeles will host the Cultural Festival "Octavio Paz and postpachucos: Cultural encounter of migrants on Mexican identity" on March 16 and 17 as a coordinated effort between the Ministry of Culture and the Executive Directorate of Cultural Diplomacy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs .
This event will offer cinema, jazz, urban art, Guadalupan photography, poetry in indigenous languages, booktrucks, talks, and traditional Mexican food.
Following the inauguration, which was held on Saturday at 10:30 am , there was a series of conferences about Octavio Paz and the pachuco identity, a topic he addressed in his book El Laberinto de la soledad ( The Labyrinth of Solitude ). Furthermore, the film Un día sin mexicanos (A Day without Mexicans) (2004) by Sergio Arau was screened.
In addition, a reflection on the contributions of cinema in the detonation of cultural identities was scheduled, as well as the Yáá Tunche event , a space of expression for music and poetry in indigenous languages.
On Sunday , a culinary demonstration with craft beer and the conference "Traditional Mexican cuisine, a world heritage site" will be held at the consulate, the company said in a statement.

Likewise, in the consulate there will be foodtrucks of Mexican food accompanied by booktrucks sponsored by the Mexican publishing house Fondo de Cultura Económica (FCE) .
