The students Jonathan Espinosa Esquivel and Oswaldo Brigido García Aritzmendi are both studying a degree in Mechatronics Engineering at Mexico’s National Technology Institute (TecNM) and have obtained medals for second and third place at the 2019 Robotic Arena , an international competition that took place at the Wroclaw Congress Center in Poland , with over 160 participants from different world-renowned universities .
The young students from the Higher Technological Institute (ITS) Ciudad Hidalgo campus , were given an opportunity to participate in the tournament thanks to their remarkable participation in the 2018 Robomatrix , which took place at the Panamerican University of Guadalajara , where Jonathan and Oswaldo competed in the Drones category , according to a press release.
The Higher Technological Institute of Ciudad Hidalgo is one of the 11 campuses of higher technological institute in the state of Michoacán to offer seven majors in engineering: Computer Science, Information Technology, Industrial, Business Management, Biochemistry, Mechatronics, and Nanotechnology .
The general director of the TecNM, Enrique Fernández Fassnacht , congratulated the winners of the tournament and commented that their performance was a result of their effort as well as the education they received at the institution.
On his part, the director of the ITS, Javier Irepan Hacha , thanked the work carried out by the professors at the Mechatronics department, the dedication and effort of the students, and the support and trust of both education institutions and private companies that finance the TecNM’s projects.
