El ganador del aumento de los aranceles de EU es México: Wall Street Journal; exportaciones mexicanas llenaron vacío que dejó China
Juan Domingo Argüelles
, Mexican essayist, literary critic, and editor assured that poetry is a well-established genre in Mexico.
Argüelles assured that poetry "creates a perfectly refined and polished language, plus it has an amazing virtue: Poetry is a mnemonic genre par excellence ."
The publication of the General Anthology of Mexican Poetry ( Antología general de la poesía mexicana ) (2012-2014) filled a vast gap in the genre in the country. It offers the broadest panorama of Mexican poetry: two volumes comprehending the works of 278 authors , from pre-Hispanic times to the most recent generations.
However, Océano publishing house presents the Essential Anthology of Mexican Poetry ( Antología esencial de la poesía mexicana ), reaching the readership in an abridged version.
From Nezahualcóyotl and Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz , through Salvador Novo , Xavier Villaurrutia , Carlos Pellicer , Octavio Paz , Jaime Sabines , José Emilio Pacheco , and Eduardo Lizalde , to the most recent authors.
According to Argüelles, the project compilator, the anthology belongs to a series, starting with the Minimal Anthology of Mexican Poetry ( Antología mínima de la poesía mexicana ), followed by the Essential Anthology of Mexican Poetry , and the General Anthology of Mexican Poetry .
Each anthology portrays a different reading proposal and the project is divided into three stages to channel the readership.
The readers will be introduced to poetry with the Minimal Anthology of Mexican Poetry , and if they want to broaden their poetry knowledge they will dive in the Essential Anthology of Mexican Poetry or even in the General Anthology of Mexican Poetry .
