Mexican gifted child Dafne Almazán , 16, has concluded her graduate degree in Education with Emphasis on Teaching-Learning Mechanisms at the Technological Institute of Higher Studies of Monterrey ( ITESM ). With this achievement, Dafne has become the youngest psychologist in the world and one of the few people worldwide who have a graduate degree at her age, according to a statement released by the Talent Attention Center ( CEDAT ).
Her thesis on the positive effects of a differentiated education in the teaching of Mathematics for gifted children in elemental education focused specifically on basic algebra, one of the areas where children score the lowest in the Program for International Student Assesment (PISA) in Mexico.
In addition to her academic achievements above, Dafne is planning to study Law and finish a Ph.D. before her eighteenth birthday.
Dafne is part of the Intellectual Development Program and was diagnosed as a gifted child by the Department of Psychology of the CEDAT.
At age 7, she finished elementary education and by age 10, Dafne had already begun her undergraduate course in psychology. Three years later, she obtained her degree and became the youngest psychologist in the world.
