Production has started for a TV series about the Mexican band “Bronco,” known for songs such as “ Que no quede huella ,” (Let there be no trace) and “ Sergio el bailador ” (Sergio the dancer), which will not be limited to television, but will also become a multimedia project .
Leading the project, Marcelo Tamburri, vicepresident of Turner’s Fiction Development in Latin America , has announced that the TV series will be launched in 2019 .
“The TV series will be a work of fiction that dwells on the band’s history. We intend to expand the series’ universe to the music industry in a multimedia project,” claimed Tamburri without going into further detail.
Bronco was born in the state of Nuevo León in the late 1970s . On their first show, they were paid only 50 pesos . José Guadalupe Esparza, lead singer of Bronco , was then working as a mason’s helper and the other band members paid for their first record production with their own pockets.
“ It is a beautiful story of overcoming adversity, about a band that has transcended all social classes in Mexico , with music that soothes the soul and makes us want to dance. We are putting all our efforts to move the project forward,” claimed Marcelo.
Turner’s Fiction is also working on other bio-pic projects. Last weekend, the company launched a 10-episode series about Mexican wrestlers called “Por una máscara,” featuring A lex Perea and Daniel Martínez .
They also collaborated with the series called “ Selena: The Queen of Tex-Mex ,” starring Maya Zapata and Damayanti Quintanar , which is still on air.
