The Arte y Folklor México Ballet , led by A ranza Zu López , won the second place at the Cheonan World Dance Festival (CHWDF) , the most important festival of its kind, which took place in South Korea.

The Mexican ballet company danced along with 52 other competitors.

Also, their costumes , formed by 35 different elements, and worn in the Quetzalcóatl, La Leyenda (Quetzalcóatl, the legend), a play, were considered as the best.

“These are several achievements. First, to be chosen by the CHWDF organizers. Then to impress a very strict international jury , for us to get the second place, out of 52 ballets . And finally, that our costume won the first place ”, said Aranza Zu.

Also, the Mexican embassy in South Korea asked the Arte y Folklor Ballet to do several presentations, which were a success, as the antique precolonial legend of the feathered serpent impressed the attendees and was hailed by the Korean media.

“We hope the event is recognized in our country because we represented it before other 52 countries, they congratulated us and recognized the art in our staging, which shows our roots , and the origin of our vast culture ”, said the Mexican ballet director.
