A match between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs will take place on November 18 at Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium and it will surely be a day to remember. Michael Davis, the defensive back of the California team is of Mexican descent.
Davis grew up playing soccer in the Mexican state of Michoacán and he dreamt of playing with Mexico’s National Football (soccer) Team some day. Now, he will be playing at one of the most important sports games in Mexico this year.
“Being here in Mexico representing the chargers is very nice, I hope I can contribute to our team winning in November . We will come and try to beat the Chiefs,” said Davis during a visit to Mexico City.
“ El Bato ,” as he is called in the locker room, added that both he and the team felt excited to come to Mexico City, where he assured that everything would run smoothly this time. The 24-year-old defensive back said that Californians “would come to Mexico to show what we are made off. We’re coming to win.”
While the Chiefs will be playing with last year’s Most Valuable Player Patrick Mahomes , the Chargers will seek to bring quarterback Philip Rivers to next year’s Super Bowl.
Michael said that, though the Chiefs were a great team, the Chargers beat them last season, and it was likely that they would win again on November 18 .
