On Wednesday , a Federal Judge stopped, for the moment, the execution of the arrest warrant against Emilio Lozoya , former CEO of PEMEX for the purchase of a house in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo as part of the alleged bribes in the Odebrecht case.

Although the case was opened in January 2017 , it took more than two years to issue the arrest warrants for the case involving Brazilian builder Odebrecht . Three charges were presented against Lozoya, related to acts of corruption during his period as CEO of PEMEX from 2012 to 2016.

The Fourteenth District Judge for Protection Under Criminal Law in Mexico City granted a provisional suspension in the suit filed by Lozoya Austin, last Friday, when the Office of the Attorney General of Mexico (FGR) informed that it had obtained arrest warrants against the former official, his wife, sister, and mother for the Odebrecht case.

Nonetheless, the measure only protects Emilio Lozoya since the rest of his relatives has yet to present an appeal against the arrest warrants issued last May 25th by a supervisory judge from the Reclusorio Norte , a prison in Mexico City.

The FGR highlighted that in July 2012, Marielle Helene Eckes purchased a house in Ixtapa through a lawyer from Altos Hornos de México (AHMSA) from Nelly Martiza Aguilera Concha , for USD $1.9 million , that presumably stem from a bribe for PEMEX to guarantee the purchase of Agronitrogenados from AHMSA.

As of the moment, the FGR has not revealed which is the crime or crimes for which this new arrest warrant against Lozoya and his family was issued.
