“Impunity Op” to be launched in six cities

( PGR ) and the Federal Police have deployed over 5,000 agents to execute at least 22,000 pending arrest warrants against alleged criminals in six Mexican cities .

"It is a procedure against impunity. Not closing the impunity chains has spoiled the system. It is said that impunity is the worst form of injustice and the way to confront it is to comply with the judicial mandates," assured Renato Sales Heredia , Mexico's National Security Commissioner.

He explained that these are not only dissuasive actions but rather an investigation process with precise objectives.

In an interview with EL UNIVERSAL , Renato Salas disclosed that agents from the seven departments of the Federal Police and Judicial agents arrived in the cities of Los Cabos , Cancún , Ciudad Juárez , Colima , Tecomán , and Manzanillo as part of the efforts to decrease violence rates at areas affected by the disputes of organized crime groups.

He explained that agents were sent particularly to Los Cabos and Cancún to provide security to tourists, employees, and visitors, while agents were deployed in Ciudad Juárez , one of the cities with the highest murder rates in the country as a quick move to cease the growing crime incidence.

In Manzanillo and Tecomán , murders have increased due to the struggle between organized crime groups in the port where chemical substances from Asia used to elaborate synthetic drugs arrive continuously.

According to the National Security Commissioner, the federal agents will be in coordination with the corresponding state's attorney offices and local prosecutor offices.

The results of this security protocol will be announced each week and based on the outcome agent deployment will be implemented in other entities.

Renato Salas mentioned that the operation will receive support from the PGR , the Mexican army , the Mexican Navy , and the National Security and Research Center ( CISEN ).

“Security actions are aimed towards addressing the specific needs of several states of the country, with the objective of improving conditions of security and tranquility of the population,” he concluded.
