In a statement, the Association of Brewers of the Mexican Republic ( Asociación de Cerveceros de la República Mexicana abbreviated Acermex ) announced that " Frida " the famous rescue dog will have its own beer brand.

from its sales will be donated to the building reconstruction of areas affected by Mexico's recent earthquakes , an 8.2-magnitude quake on Thursday, September 7 followed by a 7.1-magnitude quake on Tuesday, September 19 .
The non-profit beer "acknowledges each and every volunteer, rescuer and anonymous heroes who have risked their lives," the Acermex said in a statement.
So far the association has already registered the trademark “ Frida Marina, cerveza con causa ” (“ Frida Marina, beer for a cause ”) in the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property ( Instituto Mexicano de la Propiedad abbreviated IMPI ), to ensure that the new product "remains faithful to its creation ideals and that it will remain non-profit."
Frida is among the 270 trained rescue dogs throughout the Mexico, and she is a member of the Canine Unit of the Mexican Navy . Her assistance has proved vital in the search and rescue efforts in Haiti in 2010 , in Guatemala in 2015 , in Ecuador in the following year and in Mexico in Oaxaca and Mexico City after the devastating earthquakes that hit the country.
