If you enjoy outdoor activities and still haven’t decided what to do this weekend, this may interest you. The 2019 Kite Festival will start tomorrow in the Magical Village of Tequisquiapan , Querétaro, just two and a half hours away from Mexico City !
In its fourth edition, the festival will feature an exhibition of giant kites which will take place three times a day. Prepare to see a sky full of colorful and enormous kites in the shape of animals, flowers, and even characters.
You may participate by flying your own hand-made kite! The event will also offer a workshop to teach you how to make your own kite . And in case you’re not feeling particularly creative, you may purchase one at the event.
The festival will take place over two weekends: On January 19, 20, 26, and 27, from 11 AM to 6 PM . The gardens of the Quesos Bocanegra cellar will be this year’s venue.
Besides kites, the festival will offer all sorts of activities for families to enjoy: Paint shops for the children, clown shows, and live music . You may also bring your pet, since the Kite Festival is a pet friendly event.
Pizzas, hamburgers, salads, roast beef, and cheeses
will be offered at the gastronomical area, as well as wines, beer, and natural flavored water .
The Quesos Bocanegra cellar is located at Km 50.2 of the Tequisquiapan-Querétaro road , about 20 minutes away from the Magical Village.
