The Mexican Pharmaceutical Council (CFM) informed that the flight with medical supplies for the COVID-19 pandemic that arrived on May 17 in Mexico City's International Airport, brought 88 ventilators purchased as donations for 11 medical institutions fighting the virus in the country.
The CFM thanked the Carlos Slim Foundation and Grupo Mexico for their support to help public and private institutions attending to patients with COVID-19.

In a press release, the CFM added that the donation of the Shangrila 510s ventilators will take place according to the agreement with the IMSS Foundation .

“Over USD $1 million were needed to purchase the 88 units and we had the support of Mexican health authorities so that the ventilators could arrive through the airbridge set by the Mexican government for the importation of medical supplies.”
The institutions that will benefit from the donation are the “Salvador Zubirán” National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition with 13 units, the National Institute for Respiratory Diseases (INDRE) with 12, and the ABC Medical Center with 15.
Moreover, some ventilators will be donated to hospitals throughout Mexico such as the Sonora State General Hospital , Sonora’s IMSS de Nacozari , Parral’s IMSS , the Chihuahua University Central Hospital , the Sombrerete, Zacatecas Community Hospital , and the Charcas’ IMSS in San Luis Potosí.
