Corona beer brand
will seek to change the paper cups used in the Corona Capital concerts sponsored in Mexico by eco-friendly compostable cups in order to leave a positive mark on the events.
Alejandro Gershberg
, the brand's Experience Manager , said that the launch will be made at Corona Capital Guadalajara where they expect to use more than 70,000 compostable cups with this technology.
Gershberg assured that it is an opportunity to change the way beer is consumed in festivals, leaving a positive footprint in the country, adding that the brand is currently seeking for 100% compostable cups in their future concerts.
The aim of the company is both to guarantee the best consumer experience and to ensure that the brand can also do something for the country as well, explained Gershberg.
Festival Corona Capital wrote on Facebook in Spanish: "Guadalajara to be the Music Capital for the first time and what better way to do it in a sustainable way: with our 0% plastic and 100% compostable cups!"
For its part, Jesus Herrera , General Director of the manufacturer Impact0 , explained that the cups are made from corn starch , a bioplastic that consumes less water and energy than PET .
Herrera explained that after the event in Guadalajara , they expect to collect around a ton of compostable cups, which will be crushed to make the composting process much faster.
