This year’s edition of the Coachella music festival has been canceled due to COVID-19 fears.
Concerned about a possible surge of the virus in Autumn , Riverside’s Public Health officer Cameron Kaiser decided to cancel Coachella as well as the Stagecoach country music festival .
Kaiser said he was aware his decisión would affect many people but stressed that his priority is to protect the health of the community.
On March 10 , the organizers of Coachella informed that the music festival had been postponed for October 9, 10, 11, and October 16, 17, and 18 over coronavirus concerns.
When the Coachella 2020 music festival poster was released, it showed Mexicans were once again among the celebrities in charge of entertaining the audience.
From Mazatlán , Sinaloa , Banda MS was one of the great surprises. The group would perform on April 12 and 19 in the same stage that would feature Frank Ocean , Lana del Rey, Fatboy Slim , among many others.
For his part, Ed Maverick , a soloist 18-years-old musician from Chihuahua , surprised his critics with his participation in Coachella scheduled on the same days as his co-nationals. Despite being bullied online, the young folk musician has persisted in his artistic career.
The festival would originally take place on two weekends, from April 10 to 12 and from 17 to 19 in the Empire Polo Club in the United States. Among the celebrities included in the poster that makes no distinctions in music genres were Rage Against the Machine , Calvin Harris , Thom Yorke , Travis Scott, and the K-pop idols BIGBANG .

This is not the first time a Mexican would perform at Coachella, as was the case when Los Ángeles Azules delighted the attendees with songs like “El listón de tu pelo” iat a concert in which even Justin Bieber danced cumbia.
