The Mexican National Sports Award are a special honor given by the Federal Government to athletes, coaches, judges, and referees who have had an outstanding achievement in sports.

This year, Mexican football player Javier “Chicharito” Hernández won in the Professional Sports category, while Natalia Botello and Adriana Jiménez shared the victory in the Amateur Sports category.

After meeting at the facilities of the National Commission of Physical Culture and Sports, the jury decided to reward the athletes for their respective achievements.

Natalia is a fencer of international renown and has won several international competitions and world cups.

Jiménez won the silver medal at the 17th FINA International Championship in Budapest and finished 3rd in the World Series for her sport.

Other winners include Diana Laura Coraza (Athletics) and María Isabel Huitrón (Judo) in the Adaptive Sports category.
