, an Italian chef , and owner of the Osteria Francescana , the world's best restaurant , will be in Mexico to host two dinners to raise funds for a good cause.
This years edition of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants named Massimo Bottura as the world's best chef not only for his delicious creations but also because he is changing the world through gastronomy . He has teamed with several organizations, the UN is among them, to raise awareness on food waste.
Next August 17 and 18 , the Italian chef will be in Mexico to host two dinners at the Moon Palace Resorts in Cancun . The menu is still unknown, but it's been said that he will serve similar dishes to the ones he offers in Osteria Francescana.
The dinner would set you back MXN $11,4000 , but although the price seems high, the money is for the Food for Soul, Bottura's charity , that supports community kitchens , educates people on food waste and social isolation .
Bottura
has previously organized dinners to raise funds for his foundation. He has created support networks for the poor and fed them for days. For example, In Rio de Janeiro , he stayed in the slums for 60 days, during the Olympic games, to feed the community.

doesn't do this for money or social recognition, during an interview he said that: “ Food is a poetic act, it ignites social change”.
