AMLO the rock star
In Córdoba, Veracruz , there was a lot of anticipation to see President López Obrador. People waited for 12 hours outside the park to grab a seat and other even paid MXN $1,000 to listen to the President . At a famous restaurant, Los Portale s, which is located in front of the park, they sold tickets to have breakfast at the restaurant during the President's speech at MXN $250 each. A diner said “they were cashing in ,” who was frustrated because they couldn't access the balcony in the restaurant because the tickets were sold out. So a family of four had to pay a minimum of MXN $1,000 to be able to listen to the President while they had breakfast. Was it worth it?
The return of the PAN-PRD alliance
Despite the disastrous results obtained during the presidential election on July 2018 , the alliance between the PAN and the PRD is still alive. The PRD finally said yes to the PAN and they will team up to compete in the Durango elections on June 2019. In this election , 39 municipal presidents will be elected. But it's not like the PRD will attract many votes . We've been told that the alliance is the result of a strategy because the race is very close, so it's better to secure as many votes as possible. They explain that this is the scenario in the state of Durango , as Morena, PT, and the PVEM formed an alliance that is relatively strong. It seems like the PRD forgot the results of supporting Ricardo Anaya's candidacy last year.
Noroña, from Nueva York to Iztapalapa
Gerardo Fernández Noroña, PT,
recently inaugurated his Iztapalapa office with great fanfare . No, it wasn't luxurious but there were a lot of tamales to celebrate Candlemas . Fernández Noroña enjoyed tamales and atole along with his supporters in what he calls his new office. Noroña shared a picture on his Twitter account, where he is seen along with Guadalupe Aguilar Solache, a local assembly member from Moren a, who helped him inaugurate his office. So now you know that Noroña doesn't only hang out in New York and eats in fancy restaurants , but he also eats tamales in Iztapalapa .
The “miraculous” fuel business
After the implementation of the President's strategy against fuel theft and its sale, we've been told that a group of Deputies and Senators from different parties are forming a united front to face powerful companies linked to the illegal fuel market , which have strengthened in the last decade. We've been told the PRI will insist and ask the Attorney General and the Federal Economic Competition Commission to investigate the former Pemex Transformación director, Carlos Murrieta Cummins and his team, as well as the “miraculous” growth of some companies.
