A 7.5 magnitude earthquake Mexico’s southern state of Oaxaca on Tuesday at 10:29 a.m, according to Mexico's Seismic Institute ( SSN ). The national agency said the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 7.1 earlier in the morning.
The United States Geological Survey ( USGS ) said the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 7.4.
The National Weather Service 's ( NWS ) issued a tsunami threat after de quake, yet tsunami waves are not expected for northern regions.

In Mexico City , there have been no casualties or damages reported after the earthquake which the agency said hit at a distance of about 23 km south of Oaxaca's Crucecita region.
Mexico President Andrés Manuel López Obrador
said one person was killed and another injured in a building collapse in Huatulco , Oaxaca . Otherwise he said reports were of minor damage from the quake , including broken windows and collapsed walls. López Obrador said there had been more than 140 aftershocks , most of them small.
Oaxaca Governor Alejandro Murat
later said a second person was killed in an apparent house collapse in the tiny mountain village of San Juan Ozolotepec .
Federal civil defense authorities reported four more deaths: a worker at the state-run oil company , Pemex , fell to his death from a refinery structure in Salina Cruz , a man died in the Oaxaca village of San Agustin Amatengo when a wall fell on him, a young woman in La Crucecita , and another man in San Francisco Ozolotepec .
