Tropical storm Franklin is currently in the Gulf of Mexico area and is expected to make landfall tomorrow morning at the North of the oil-producing State of Veracruz, according to the Mexican National Meteorological Service (SMN) .
The storm left several material damages after it hit the Yucatan Peninsula, particularly in the state of Campeche, but no human losses have been reported.
Civil Protection has been holding sessions in the States of Tabasco, Veracruz, Puebla, Hidalgo, Chiapas, Tamaulipas and Nuevo Leon as Franklin is expected to hit all seven states.
Ricardo de la Cruz Musalem, director of the Civil Protection of the Secretary of the Interior (Segob) stated the Federal Government has initiated Plan MX to coordinate prevention and response actions to efficiently protect the population.
Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex), the Mexican oil-producing company, reported an increase in security measures at their vessels and on and offshore facilities. They said there's no need yet to evacuate their platforms or facilities.
The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) informed yesterday that electric power has been restored to 93% of the users who were affected by the storm in the States of Quintana Roo, Campeche and Yucatan.

Tropical storm Franklin is expected to become a category 1 hurricane as it moves across the Gulf of Mexico.
