Unexploded Bomb near Fukushima Nuclear Plant

The artifact was found this morning by construction workers that were drilling for the expansion of a parking lot located 300 meters away from the nuclear plant, property of Tokyo Electric Power Company ( TEPCO ).

The device has a length of 33 inches (85 centimeters) and a diameter of 6 inches (15 centimeters) approximately, according to the police report that sent pictures of the bomb to the Japan Self-Defense Forces ( JSDF ) to determine if it can explode and therefore take proper actions for its removal.

The area previously hosted an airfield of the Imperial Japanese Army ( IJA ) that was attacked by air forces during the World War II , according to TEPCO reports.

The police have cordoned off a 656-feet (200-meter) area surrounding the artifact, but the dismantling work of the nuclear plant has not caused any major problems.
