The Fundación Tchaikovsky de México (The Tchaikovsky Foundation of Mexico) donated today to The Glinka National Museum Consortium of Musical Culture in Moskow a set of Mexican musical instruments.
The ceremony was presided by the current Mexican ambassador to Russia, Norma Pensado , and the head of the Glinka Museum, Mijail Brizgalov .

Among the instruments, from the Pre-Hispanic era , there are ténabaris (a kind of rattle used by Yaqui and Mayo natives), rattles, guaje or water drum, güiros (a percussion instrument), scrapers, slide whistle, double flute, and a death whistle.
All the instruments, made of wood, pumpkin, and clay, are replicas from preserved originals and drawings.

After handing the instruments, Gabriela Jiménez and the Russian-Mexican violinist Milana Sóboleva performed the concert “ Rhythm philosophy. ”
