, 96 years old, husband and consort of Queen Elizabeth II of England , was hospitalized as a "precautionary measure" to treat an infection , the Buckingham Palace reported on Wednesday.
The infection arises from a "pre-existing condition," said the Royal House, informing that he was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday night.
The news of his hospitalization came just minutes before the Queen issued her traditional speech in Parliament, which in this case marks the start of the Parliamentary year after the June 8 elections.
