15 calls to AMLO
If on Sunday Delfina Gomez becomes winner in the election of the State of Mexico, everything will be happiness in far-left National Regeneration Party (MORENA), and such victory will hardly allow a post mortem analysis of successes and a self-critical look at the mistakes made. But if Mrs. Delfina is defeated at the polls, the study of what failed will be mandatory. It is important to take note of the fact that left Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD) candidate Juan Zepeda, who currently occupies the third place of electoral preferences, according to the survey published by EL UNIVERSAL on Tuesday, has record of 15 private calls to Andrés Manuel López Obrador in an attempt to establish an alliance of left parties in the election for governor. We are told that the attempts for dialogue received rude ultimatums from AMLO, who even put the cherry on top saying that PRD has become part of the "ruling powers" for not following him unconditionally. But wait, there's more ...
“You're going to lose your registry”
What excuses did Andrés Manuel López Obrador make to subdue left Democratic Revolution Party (PRD) in the State of Mexico? We are told that the man from Tabasco sent offensive messages, with his lawyer Horacio Duarte: "You have only 3 points so far, you're even going to lose your registry". From the PRD war room an analysis is being made on the elements that stopped a potential alliance with far-left National Regeneration Party (MORENA): there was never a refusal to dialogue with AMLO, but he was not looking for adhesion, he wanted submission. Pride stopped the possibility of marching together. Both parties, we are told, had the opportunity of removing ruling Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and the culprit of that not happening will be Lopez Obrador. Today he must change because it could cost him the presidential election of 2018. That is the assessment among PRD strategists.
Ricardo Anaya's deadline
A group of important conservative National Action Party (PAN) members is sending a strong message of demand to PAN national president Ricardo Anaya next Monday, June 5, as soon as the results of the elections in the State of Mexico, Coahuila, Nayarit and Veracruz are known. They tell us that after the elections on Sunday, June 4, the "truce" of the blue groups will end, who will show their faces to demand Mr. Ricardo to define his future: if he is going to run for the candidacy of PAN to the Presidency for 2018, he must resign and allow fair competition. This approach has been expressed in recent months by different leaders of PAN, as did the lifetime national councilor Fernando Canales Clariond, who said that he can not have a dual role within the party. Will the leader listen or continue wearing his two caps?
Dimplomacy, antidote against insults
Diplomacy is the best antidote to insults from abroad and this formula will continue in the book of Chancellor Luis Videgaray. They tell us that Mr. Luis will not fall into any type of provocation nor will he engage in exchanges or verbal duels, as some international actors claim. Proof of this, we are told, is the strategic and diplomatic stance against the menacing tone of President Donald Trump and Venezuelan Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez, who has not gotten tired of denouncing the Mexican government. And while the chancellor of the country is looking for confrontation, Videgaray set a position before the OEA: The principle of non-intervention should not be used as a pretext for a country to violate the human rights of its inhabitants or conceal alterations to the internal democratic order.
