Activist Miriam Rodríguez's murderers identified in Tamaulipas

The Attorney General of Justice of the state of Tamaulipas already identified the assassins of the activist Miriam Elizabeth Rodríguez Martínez, who could be detained this week.

Miriam Rodríguez was shot on May 10, in the municipality of San Fernando.

After the disappearance of her daughter, Karen Alejandra, Miriam became an activist with the foundation of the group Citizen Community in Search of the Disappeared in Tamaulipas.

The attorney Irving Barrios Mojica said that: “concerning the homicide of Ms. Miriam, officers of the Investigation Police and Public Prosecutor have relevant progress which will allow concrete results during the next days; we do not venture to communicate them for the time being, given the nature of the investigations.”

The perpetrators were described as persons with previous criminal records, “this was established thanks to the investigations, the intelligence report and, above all, the technical mechanisms, mainly the systems of video surveillance and C4 cameras.”

This Tuesday an homage to Miriam will take place in San Fernando with the presence of her family, government officials, and members of the Citizen Community in Search of the Disappeared in Tamaulipas group.
