Ambush and execution in Puebla
On the night of May 3rd, in a street in Palmarito, Puebla, an army ambush was carried out by Huachicoleros and a soldier was killed in the back, but there was also an execution of a man traveling in an armored van and that has been identified by the military as part of a criminal group dedicated to extracting hydrocarbons. In the armed forces there is the certainty that such event was a well-planned attack since shots were fired from land as well as the roofs. However, we are assured, there is the decision of the high command to let the Attorney General's Office (PGR), headed by Raúl Cervantes, investigate the action of such soldiers to determine the responsibility of one of them in the execution of a person who participated in the ambush. The military who has acted outside the law and without attachment to respect for human rights will have to face the sanctions that correspond, we were assured by the military leadership.
Manipulation of video in huachicolero area
It is highly probable that the Palmarito file, the execution of a man linked to criminal groups in Puebla, impacts the performance and credibility of the Army - commanded by General Salvador Cienfuegos - that for more than a decade, has fought crime in different areas of Mexico. But it is necessary to consider that the video that was spread on Wednesday morning only showed the scene of a military man who fires at the head of a subdued man, without any context. Later, we learned that the same recording shows another man shooting several soldiers behind their backs and at least one of them falls dead to the ground. But, who owns the cameras installed in that community? The huachicoleros, who watch who enters and who leaves the village, we were told. But we still need to see the footage of two more cameras placed in that area.
Broken pact in the State of Mexico
After the second debate among the candidates for the government of the State of Mexico, the leadership of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) sounded the alarms. We are told that the party's leader, Enrique Ochoa Reza, is really upset at his opponents of MORENA because there was a pact among all the parties' members not to stand outside the offices of the state electoral institute. And only, we were let know by the team of Mr. Enrique, the PRI candidate, Alfredo del Mazo and the National Action Party (PAN) aspirant, Josefina Vazquez Mota, complied with the agreement. The rest of the parties took their militants there and it was evident hat the MORENA members stood right where the people of PRI were coming out. Now, the instructions inside PRI is to take all the necessary precautions in later events, before any type of violent acts could appear.
Peña Nieto and the 5th Report
The President of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, has begun an intense field work with ahead to the drafting of his 5th Government report. We are told that he will use his tours within the country to record the spots he will use to show the actions and progress of his administration. Yesterday, during a visit to Colima, after inaugurating two hospitals, the President visited the Hidalgo Theater in the capital of Colima, where he hung out with photographer Sergio Antonio Velasco, Tapiro, and Mexican dance choreographer, Rafael Zamarripa Castañeda. There he greeted neighbors and tried the La Villa popsicles, which are famous among the people of Colima. The President's key messages for the report are now being cooked.
