The State Education System (SEE) informed the suspension of classes and academic activities for next Monday 23 in all educational levels, as well as morning and afternoon school shifts in Ensenada, Playas de Rosarito, Tijuana and Tecate municipalities due to heavy rain and flooding some areas of Baja California.
The local Minster of Education and Social Welfare, Mario Herrera Zárate, noted that the cautionary measure has been taken to safeguard the integrity of students, teachers and administrative staff in all school centers.
So far, no classes suspensions are planned for Mexicalli, while weather conditions in capital city are being monitored so as to have a statement made late today in relation to school activities taking place in the city tomorrow.
Zárate urged the communities to remain alert and to follow state media statements and instructions from the Civil Protection agencies in the affected municipalities.
A hotline to provide further information on the State Education System (SEE) has also been made available: 01 800 788 73 22.
Over eight-hundred emergency services related with recent rain and flooding have been assisted by municipal Firefighting Agencies, as informed by the local Public Safety authorities in Tijuana.
