Winter storm dusts Chihuahua and Durango with snow

The second winter storm to hit the area covered several municipalities in Durango and Chihuahua with snow, prompting authorities from both states to issue a storm warning for residents.

Users on social media shared images and videos of the snowfall over the weekend, including a video uploaded to the Chihuahua state government's official Twitter account.

In a press statement, The Chihuahua state government reports that the second winter storm covered 16 municipalities with snow over the weekend, as well as rain and heavy fog in other parts of the state.

The Durango state government also reported that 101 shelters throughout the state are open and ready to address any emergencies that may arise as a result of the extreme weather conditions.
