Mexican artist Carlos Amorales will represent Mexico in the 57th International Art Exhibition for 2017 of the Venice Biennale, as informed in a release from the Fine Arts National Institute (INBA).
The Venice Biennale is regarded as a referent in the contemporary artistic production worldwide since it fosters the development of various expressions of contemporary art.
The piece “Life in the creases” integrates the curatorial concept of the biennale, as well as exhibiting sound theoretical and aesthetic grounds of the renowned Mexican artist, whose work is characterized by a strong focus on language mediums and the possibility or impossibility of attaining recognizable communication forms that cannot fully be coded such as sounds, gestures and symbols.
“Life in the creases” will run through May 13 to November 22, 2017, in the Arsenal room of the Venice biennale.
