Monica Bellucci visits Mexico

The Italian actress visited Los Cabos International Film Festival in Baja California Sur, Mexico, to promote her latest film “On the Milky Road”, directed by Emir Kusturica, in which she plays a farmer in love amid warfare: “I come from a central city in Italy, near the countryside, and I love animals...when you are an actress you must learn how to play a queen and a plain simple girl, too”.

She adds: “This is not a political film, it is a story full of poetry that reveals a dreamlike world… I’ve worked in films with all kinds of budgets… I believe acting has to do with the culture of the soul. The soul knows no language but that of acting, that’s why I accepted this role”.

52-year-old Bellucci is one of the most visible faces in the film industry and will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Los Cabos International Film Festival. She is being regarded as one of the most beautiful actresses in the world, to what she adds: “Oscar Wilde said that beauty lasted no more than five minutes, so that is not really relevant for me”.
