Dustin and Lucas from the supernatural Netflix smash Stranger Things get chased by La Llorona in a hilarious and cute commercial by the entertainment company for its Latin American market.
Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin, the actors behind the characters on the Stranger Things, can be seen riding their bikes when all of a sudden the voice of a crying woman can be heard saying “¡Ay, mis hijos!”, the infamous words that La Llorona is known for using to haunt children in Mexico.
La Llorona is one of the most famous traditional folklore from Mexico and although several different versions exist, the most common one is that of a woman during Mexico's colonial period who goes mad after discovering her husband's infidelity and then drowns her children in the canals that used to run through what is now Mexico City. The woman, according to the legend, can be heard late at night, wandering through the streets as she looks for her children.
The story has been used by many generations of Mexican and Latino parents to scare their children and keep them from wandering out at night.
