A celebration of fantasy and color will take place in Mexico City downtown next October 22, in the occasion of the 10th Annual Parade of Monumental Alebrijes from the Museum of Popular Art.
The route of the 8.5-feet-tall creatures, made of paper and carton, will begin at noon in Zócalo, from there the parade will take 5 de Mayo street, Juárez Avenue and Paseo de la Reforma until the Ángel de la Independencia monument is reached.
After the parade, the Alebrijes will be exhibited until November 6 in the north and south sidewalks of Paseo de la Reforma avenue in the range between Ángel de la Independencia monument and Diana Cazadora’s roundabout; both the parade and the Alebrijes contest aim to affirm a cultural tradition in Mexico City.
