The case of Benjamín Serment Rosique, his girlfriend, Pamela Soto Miranda, and two more people as suspects of the murder of filmmaker León Serment and wife and film producer, Adriana Rosique Manjarrez, is to be defined today after the 72 hour detention of the suspects in the Santa Martha and North Detention Prison centers respectively, following the allegation of murder in first-degree that could get them a 70-year sentence each.
The Mexican justice is to determine whether the suspects arrest last Friday was legal, and if there are more people involved in the murder.
According to the investigations, the intellectual perpetrators of the crime, agreed to pay $100, 000 pesos for each of the victims killings and had planned the murder for 2 months.
The Attorney General of Mexico City said that the possible motive for the two murders may be linked to the collection rights of various life insurance policies on behalf of the victims son.
However, the relationship between the suspect and his parents is also being explored as Benjamín Serment Rosique, who apparently holds a childhood grudge, is under psychiatric treatment.
Additionally, the victims did not accept his son’s sentimental relationship with girlfriend, Pamela Soto.
