Mexican tennis player Daniel Garza has been suspended six months and fined US$5,000 after being found guilty of a match-fixing offense.
The Tennis Integrity Unit says Garza "attempted to influence the outcome of a match" at a low-level Futures tournament in Calabasas, California, in March 2015.
No further details were given.
The 31-year-old Garza is currently ranked No. 1,064 in singles. He reached a career-high ranking of No. 294 in 2012.
The integrity unit says the suspension takes effect immediately. Garza is barred from competing in or attending any tournament or event organized or sanctioned by the governing bodies of tennis.
The Tennis Integrity Unit was set up by the Grand Slam Board, the International Tennis Federation, the ATP and the WTA to fight corruption in the sport.
