Over the last 72 hours, at least 14 people have been murdered in different locations in Oaxaca and three more were kidnapped, including a three-year-old girl who was found alive several hours later.
According to the Oaxaca State Police, the most recent incident occurred in the beach town of San Francisco Cozoaltepec, where a 24-year-old man was murdered. The victim was found dead with multiple rifle gunshot wounds.
In Santa María el Tule, assailants shot a Federal Electricity Commission employee in the head, whose body was found in the El Retiro neighborhood.
At around 10:00pm on Tuesday, an owner of a wood shop in the town of Cañada Candelaria, died while being rushed to a nearby hospital after being shot in the face and chest.
In the municipality of Unión Hidalgo, a 34-year-old fisherman was attacked and killed with a harpoon, allegedly by his own brother-in-law, who fled the scene in a motorcycle.
Early on Monday morning in the San Antonio Lalana community, four assailants murdered a man in his home. Then, members from the community, after hearing about the man's murder, searched for the four assailants; State Officials later found the bodies of the four men, who showed signs of torture and several gunshot wounds.

In San Juan Bautista, several armed men kidnapped two people in a car repair business and shot and injured a client in the process.
The State Ministry of Public Security reported on the wave of violence and said that most cases are related to family disputes or bar fights.
