Another mayor killed in Mexico

Mayor of Huehuetlán El Grande, located in the state of Puebla, José Santa María Zavala was found dead inside his vehicle.

Initial police reports said that bullet shells near the vehicle were found, which were collected by authorities to start the investigation.

In September 2015, the mayor was attacked in his home in an alleged burglary; criminals beat him and stole one million pesos in cash. They also stole a vehicle belonging to Huehuetlán City Council.

The State Attorney General's Office has not issued any official information.
