Mexico City's Attorney General Office (PGJCM) investigates a corruption network within the Superior Court of Local Justice (TSJ) that could involve judges, secretaries and people responsible of keeping the records of high-impact cases who gave the files to “friendly” law firms so that lawyers could put together a strategy to get sentence cut short, obtain legal protection for their clients or get them released.
The network had been under investigation for half a year and evidence was found last Thursday, when elements of the PGJCM raided offices of legal firms and found four files of cases in which judges are still in the process of ruling.
The records were taken from the TSJ by Marisol Rodriguez Mier, who works for Judge Petra Quesada. All the files are being heard at to the Seventh Civil Court headed by Quesada.
Former judge José Rodríguez y Rodríguez could have given the documents to legal firms such as Asociados Rodríguez y Rodríguez and Reyes y Nava.
